Bengisu Özenç
Bengisu Özenç received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bilkent University, Department of Economics. During the years 2005-2017 she worked at Turkey Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV) as a researcher, project manager and finally served as the Director of Macroeconomics Studies Program. Conducting impact analysis studies in different sectors over these years, Özenç has focused on studies at the intersection of energy, economy and climate change since 2012. Bengisu Özenç has been working as an independent consultant since 2017 and as a part-time lecturer in the field of Environmental Economics.

Sinem Güravşar Gökçe
After graduating from TED Ankara College, Sinem Güravşar Gökçe received her bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2004. She completed her master’s degree in METU Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management in 2007 and completed his PhD in Management and Organization at İnönü University. She worked in the fields of project management, government supports, investment feasibility, sectoral evaluations, market analysis, innovation in the public sector and entrepreneurship. She worked in institutions such as Bilkent University, Roketsan, ABİGEM, Fırat Development Agency and İnönü University. She has been volunteering for non-governmental organizations such as Community Volunteers and SendeGel. Since September 2018, she has been working as the Projects Coordinator at İstasyonTEDÜ Social Innovation Center and supports the works carried out in the fields of social innovation and social entrepreneurship.

Begüm Şeren Güler
Begüm Şeren Güler started her career in Ernst & Young Tax Department after receiving her undergraduate degree from METU Department of Economics. She also got her master’s degree from METU Department of Economics and worked in institutions such as Aselsan, TEPAV and the European Commission. In 2011, under the coordination of the Secretariat General of the European Union and with the support of the private sector and non-governmental organizations, she completed her master’s degree in Economics Studies at the College of Europe as one of the first scholars. In 2016, she received her doctorate from Ankara University with the thesis titled “The Impact of Reforms on Growth in the European Union”. Güler, teaches undergraduate courses as a part-time lecturer at Hacettepe University and Bilkent University and works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs. She continues her research in areas such as European Economic Integration, economic criteria, total factor productivity and growth reforms.

Eray Yücel
Eray Yücel completed his undergraduate education in Industrial Engineering and his doctorate in Economics at Bilkent University.After serving as an economist at the Central Bank of Turkey, he worked as part-time and full-time lecturer at several universities. He has been working as a lecturer at Bilkent University since 2017.

Seven Ağır
After completing her undergraduate and graduate studies at METU, Department of Economics, Seven Ağır completed her doctoral thesis in Middle Eastern Studies at Princeton University. During 2010-2012, Ağır served as a postdoctoral researcher in Economic History program at Yale University. Since 2012, she has been working in the field of the evolution of economic institutions in Turkey, business law and economics historical issues at Middle East Technical University, Department of Economics. Ağır has publications in journals such as Doğu-Batı, Economic History Review and Journal of Economic History.

Pınar Yalman Akcengiz
Pınar Yalman Akcengiz received her bachelor’s degree from Ankara University, Department of Physics and her master’s degree from Başkent University, Energy Engineering. Between 2009-2020, she worked as the Ostim Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster Coordinator, and by the end of 2020, she established her own consultancy company. During the Cluster Coordination Office years, she carried out projects to contribute to the development of SMEs working on renewable energy and environmental technologies and to increase their export capacities. She has conducted national and international studies on regional development, clustering, supply chain, organized industrial zones, cleaner production, industrial symbiosis.

Evrim Özyorulmaz Akcura
Evrim Ozyorulmaz Akcura completed her Ph.D. in Economics at Izmir University of Economics (IUE). She received her BA in International Trade and Finance, with a double major degree in Business Administration, and her MA in Financial Economics from IUE. Previous to her current position in SEFiA, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Economics, as well as a researcher in Sustainable Energy Division, Graduate School of Social Sciences with the education and research scholarship from IUE. She has also been acting as a TUBITAK Project Researcher at Koc University for three years. She published several research articles in the leading peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science Core Collection, one chapter in a scientific book published by national publishers, and several proceedings presented in international scientific meetings. Furthermore, she wrote several monthly columns in various Turkish Periodicals. She also took part as a researcher, as well as a project expert/editor/member in applied University-Industry collaborated projects, as well as in Scientific Research Projects. Being an executive committee member, she also has experience in organizing international congress/symposiums/workshops. Her research interest lies in the areas of energy economics, energy policy making, international economics, economic growth theories, environmental issues, and sustainable development.

Taylan Kurt
Taylan Kurt received his undergraduate degree from Economics Department and graduate degree from Political Science and Public Administration Department in Middle East Technical University. He worked at The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey as researcher and policy analyst between 2017 and 2022. Since March 2022, he works as analyst at SEFiA (Sustainable Economics and Finance Research Association).

Berfu Çopur
Berfu Çopur lisans eğitimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi İktisat bölümünde, yüksek lisans eğitimini ise AB Jean Monnet Programı bursiyeri olarak Sussex Universitesi’nde Göç ve Kalkınma alanında tamamlanmıştır. 7 senedir farklı kurum ve kuruluşlarda iş geliştirme, proje yönetimi ve araştırma tecrübesi bulunmaktadır. Hali hazırda Dünya Bankası’nda Danışman olarak görev yapan Berfu Çopur, Ekim 2022’de SEFiA (Sürdürülebilir Ekonomi ve Finans Araştırmaları Derneği) ekibine katılmıştır.
